Good Energy Sponsors Sustainable Jersey for Fourth Year in a Row

Good Energy is proud to have sponsored this year’s New Jersey Sustainability Summithosted by Sustainable Jersey at the College of New Jersey. Good Energy has supported Sustainable Jersey and it’s sustainability mission since 2013, particularly as it relates to Government Energy Aggregation (GEA) in the state.

Sustainable Jersey views GEA as a vehicle in which to increase the generation and use of renewable energy in the state and region. GEA leverages economies of scale to reduce electric supply costs by aggregating the electricity usage of residential account holders within the jurisdictional boundaries of participating municipalities. Aggregated usage is then put out to bid to certified Third Party Suppliers (TPS) in order to lock in lower rates, provide budget stability, and in this case, utilize the same leverage in order to procure renewable energy in the form of Renewable Energy Certificates (REC) at reduced costs.
