The Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) recently launched a new program, called the Retrofit Energy & Capacity Program (RECAP), designed to encourage its customers to implement energy efficiency upgrades. The RECAP program makes it possible for LIPA customers to reduce the cost of planned upgrades by as much as 30% by funding a portion of the upgrade cost.

LIPA selected a small number of Energy Services Companies, (ESCOs), to handle the management, marketing, and implementation of the incentive dollars being offered. The ESCOs have in some cases turned to a network of local specialist trade allies to help develop and implement energy efficiency projects, including lighting, HAVOC, motors, variable frequency drives, and more.

Good Energy is pleased to announce that it has allied itself with Custom Energy, LLC. Custom Energy is one of the ESCOs selected by LIPA, and they are able to fund projects in the small commercial, large commercial, industrial and municipal customer segments. As a trade ally of Custom Energy, Good Energy is able to help Long Island Power Authority customers maximize available energy efficiency upgrade incentive dollars.

Good Energy's corporate affiliation with GoodMart Lighting and Electrical Supply, its expertise in performing lighting audits and energy efficiency upgrades, and its extensive experience administering rebates under the LIPA Commercial Construction rebate program, various NYSERDA rebate programs, among many others, makes Good Energy an ideal choice for LIPA customers considering energy efficiency upgrades.

As an example of the effect of a RECAP incentive payment, consider the following small scale example:
