New York City - TEPA, The Energy Professionals Association, held its Annual New York City conference this June at the 3 West Club, which boasted a record attendance for the event.
Energy brokers and retail energy suppliers from around the country participated in the event. The conference hosted several panel discussions pertaining to developing trends in the energy sector. Panel topics included such things as "solar markets" and the innovations shaping the energy industry, as well as panels on the impact of wholesale generation and capacity prices to retail energy prices.
Receiving an award for outstanding service to the organization was Good Energy's Managing Partner, Javier Barrios, who stepped down as the organization's President of the Northeast after serving 3 years. While president, Javier Barrios formed the Northeast board structure of the organization and developed several committees for regulatory, membership, events and education. A couple of highlights to his tenure was creating the Northeast TEPA education certification, and advocating on behalf of the broker community during the recent NY Public Service Commission Resetting Order. See letter attached. Three years ago, TEPA, which was founded in Texas, had no exposure in the Northeast, but the brand is growing and membership is up in the region. "I feel the organization is now established in the Northeast. I'm happy to be a part of that early growth. And there is a solid new leadership team that can take the group to an even higher echelon". Said Javier Barrios.
