Dynegy, a Houston-based power generator and partner of Good Energy, was recently recognized as one of the top 25 companies for diversity in the state during the Texas Diversity and Leadership Conference in Dallas.
“One of Dynegy’s core values is promoting an environment in which those of all backgrounds are encouraged to share their perspectives and experience,” said Dynegy President and Chief Executive Officer Robert C. Flexon. “Having a diverse set of backgrounds and viewpoints at the table and in the board room makes a better and more competitive company.”
The National Diversity Council evaluated more than 100 Texas Fortune 1000 companies and ranked Dynegy seventh in a recent diversity survey. The council recognized Dynegy for its large number of women and minorities including executive management and board of director positions.
“The Top Companies for Diversity Award honors companies of the highest caliber,” said Dennis Kennedy, Founder and Chairman of the National Diversity Council. “Our team takes great pride in honoring Dynegy, and other companies like them, that make a more inclusive workplace a priority.”
Dynegy was also recently named a Top Workplace Company by the Houston Chronicle’s Top Workplaces initiative.
Throughout the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, Texas and California, Dynegy operates nearly 28,000 megawatts of power-generating facilities capable of producing enough energy to supply more than 23 million American homes. In its retail business, Dynegy serves about 1.2 million customers who depend the company for reliable, affordable energy.
Good Energy has partnered with Dynegy to develop municipal aggregation programs, such as those in Illinois.
